How the Rest of Your Course Works
Case Study Submissions
Submit five clear photo case studies via our online form. One quad/collage for each eye of each model. These must be submitted within 90 days to receive your official certification.
To avoid having your case studies denied, please follow the case study submission rules exactly. Your case study photos are sent by your trainer to the Elleebana USA Headquarters, and need to be in the correct format, or they will not be accepted.
Your photos should look like this:
5 Models, 4 Photos of Each Eyebrow, for a total of 8 photos per model.
Each eyebrow must be done separately.
Each photo should be taken straight on, not at "instagram" angles.
Each eyebrow needs to include the following 4 photos:
1. A "before", of the client looking straight ahead (think "mug shot"), after cleansing.
2. The white pencil outlining the brow area, without henna applied.
3. The henna applied
4, And finally, your "after" photo.
Information that needs to be included with each model's photos:
1. Date the brow henna was performed
2. Colors or mixtures used (how many scoops of each)
3. Processing time
You can submit your case studies directly on this form:

Helpful Tips for Working with Henna
Cleansing Always make sure to do a thorough double cleanse using both the Belma Remove AND the brow shampoo. If they have oilier skin you want to let the shampoo sit for a moment to break down that oil. Make sure you really remove that cleanser by rinsing thoroughly. If really oily, you can additionally swipe something like witch hazel to break that oil barrier.
Consistency Make sure that you don’t mix the henna until AFTER you map out the brows. You want to make sure your product is thick enough, but not too thick: moveable, but not runny. Apply to the entire brow area consistently. Make sure with thicker brows you are getting all the way down to the skin as well. This may mean moving the hairs out of the way to reach the skin.
Dry Time The henna has to be completely dry. You cannot use a fan. Tap gently with your finger to make sure it is dry and “crunchy” through the entire brow. Don’t forget when removing you need to soften it a bit first with water. We want to soften and gently wipe, not rub. Also, the color can change up to 24 hours after removal. Generally the first 20 minutes or so is the most change.
Aftercare Make sure to advise your clients of aftercare: waiting 24 hours to get them in super wet or in steam, and cleansing with Belma Remove at home is safer than most makeup removers (this is a great way to retail those to your clients!). Cleansing with cool water can help preserve the skin stain. They can reschedule as soon as they like. If you need to redo due to too warmth or too cool or too light it is safe to do immediately, but they recommend waiting until the 24 hour period so you see the true results. Definitely make notes of what you used so you will know what to do for your client going forward.
How to Make the Most out of Your New Henna Certification
Elleebana has created the Precision Brow Pencil line to compliment the Brow Henna service for our clients. It is available in 3 buildable colors. We also offer a display stand for the pencils that you can use in your treatment room or retail area. These awesome pencils are retailed for $25.
As you know, clients need to avoid using most makeup removers or harsh cleansers on their new brows for 48 hours after their henna service. Retail them Belma Remove as this is the only safe and approved cleanser within that timeframe.
Remember that one henna service should be offered between $50 and $70. You can help ease the cost to your clients, and ensure client retention, by offering packages. For example, you can offer clients a 3-pack or 6-pack of henna treatments at a discounted rate every 2-3 weeks.
